Fit tip
For fitted pieces (lace bodice, structured maxi), measure your bust and hips first. For flowy silhouettes (Ankara high-low, kaftan kimono), sizing is more forgiving — true to size works well.

Jackets are labeled by standard U.S. sizing. The Joal blouson runs slightly fitted at the waist — consider sizing up for a relaxed fit.

Before you measure
How to take your measurements
Use a soft tape measure. Measure over light undergarments, not over bulky clothing.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Do not pull tight.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist — usually about an inch above your belly button.
Hip
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, with feet together. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
Length
For maxi dresses, measure from your shoulder to the floor. For short dresses, from shoulder to mid-thigh.
Fabric care
Keep it looking the way it arrived.
Each fabric type has different care needs. Follow these guidelines to preserve the color, structure, and longevity of your piece.
Ankara (Wax Print Cotton)

- Machine wash cold, gentle cycle
- Turn inside out before washing to protect print
- Tumble dry low, or air dry
- Iron on medium heat, inside out
- Do not bleach
- Colors may bleed slightly on first wash — wash separately
Bogolan (Mud Cloth)
Found in: Mud Cloth Jacket, select statement pieces
- Hand wash cold only
- Use mild, color-safe detergent
- Do not wring — press gently and roll in a towel
- Air dry flat, out of direct sunlight
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry
- Dry cleaning recommended for best preservation
Lace & Embellished Pieces
Found in: Somone Maxi, select gowns
- Hand wash only in cold water
- Do not wring or twist
- Lay flat to dry
- Store on a hanger, not folded
- For embellishments (sequins, beadwork) — dry clean only
- Do not iron lace directly — use a pressing cloth
General Cotton Blends
Found in: Notto, Nianing, Djinack sets
- Machine wash cold, normal cycle
- Tumble dry medium or air dry
- Iron on medium heat
- Hang after washing to prevent creasing
- Do not bleach
